If you've had your own business for some time now, at some point you've probably thought to yourself "there's gotta be a better way to do this... 😩". And you would be right! Over the last almost 10 years of being a wedding photographer, I've tried a ton of different apps, softwares, programs, you name it! But I've finally narrowed it down to my absolute favorites that I can't live without. So buckle up, cause today we're talking:

The 5 Best Apps to Optimize Your Work Flow for Wedding Photographers!

#1: Honeybook

Using a client relationship management software (or CRM) like Honeybook to keep all of your business’s important info in one place is the easiest way to stay organized.

It's a hub that truly has revolutionized the way I run my business by allowing me to track expenses, send contracts and invoices (they even have templates!), get signatures online, take payments and have them automatically send to your bank, send automatic emails and reminders for things like payments or upcoming meetings, schedule meetings and sessions right through their scheduling app feature, keeping all of your client communications in one place. Seriously, there seems to be no limit to the amount of things you can do within Honeybook.

They put basically everything you need to run the back end of your business into one app and I would be absolutely lost without it.

#2: Quickbooks

Quickbooks is an extremely easy to use accounting software/app that allows you to connect all of your bank accounts and credit cards so that you can keep track of every single payment and expense.

This is huge as business owners when it comes time to do our taxes, because no one wants to be stuck sorting through their bank statements for hours and hours at the end of the year.

Instead, you can set automatic rules for categorizing recurring charges or payments, auto track mileage when you're driving to shoots or weddings, snap and store your receipts, and then have everything ready to roll seamlessly for tax season. You can even connect it to Honeybook to have everything streamlined and organized in one place!

#3: Photo Mechanic

My ride or die for saving time. Photo Mechanic is by far the most AMAZING culling software I’ve ever had. I’ve culled photos in Lightroom, Bridge, Narrative, everything out there, but I love Photo Mechanic so much more than I could ever explain.

Super fast loading previews so you can fly through RAW photos and easily sort which ones you want to edit. The best part is they have a one time buy in fee of $139 and you never have to pay a subscription fee. How often does that happen?!

#4: Pic-Time

Not only is Pic-Time the best photo delivery gallery app with a built in online print shop to sell your albums and print options, easy to make slideshows to have right in gallery, but they've recently added an additional feature that let's you create stunning blogs right from your client galleries!

Gone are the days that you need to painstakingly sort through photos after you deliver, re-upload in different formats with different sizes and names. Pic-Time seamlessly let's you choose photos from the gallery, auto-re formats them, has a built in SEO optimizing feature, and has some of the most beautiful pre made blog layouts I've ever seen. I can easily have a blog up finished within 15 minutes now instead of the hours it used to take me using other blogging apps. Seriously, I don't think I could love a gallery service more.

#5: Canva

Canva hons and tons of free design templates so you can spend less time agonizing over designing your content, and more time engaging with your audience.

As photographers, we shouldn't have to be designers for every bit of content we create also!

So I use Canva’s templates for everything from Instagram posts, to stories, to client welcome guides, even to do lists and daily planners to keep you on top of your goals!

There’s a free version with tons of stunning templates, and a pro version for only a few dollars a month that has even more designer created templates!
